The Bronwyn Dodson Theatre, a black box theatre, named after former student Bronwyn Dodson, can accomodate up to 150 audience members. A flexible seating systems allows for proscenium, thrust, semi-thrust, arena, and alley configurations to the theatre. All performances in the Bronwyn Dodson Theatre are produced by the Theatre Arts Department. One half of the mainstage productions, the Playwrights Festival, Directors Festival, and class projects perform in the Bronwyn Dodson Theatre.

This $48.5 million performing arts center at Cal State Fullerton opened in January 2006 and includes four performance venues: Meng Concert Hall (800 seats), Young Theatre (250 seats), Hallberg Theatre (150 seats) and McGarvey Family Dance Studio (50 seats).

In the late 1970’s, the Civic and Cultural Center, as we know it today, was not in existence. Brea was still using the old City Hall on Brea Blvd. for its daily operations. Under the guidance of Mayor Wayne Wedin, the city undertook the colossal project of building the new civic center. Mayor Wedin, being a forward thinking politician, as well as being committed to enhancing Brea with the inclusion of the arts, sought community input on what services should be included in the new civic center.

The award winning Fullerton Civic Light Opera (FCLO) was incorporated in December of 1971, as a 501 C(3) non-profit corporation. Beginning as a community theater using local talent, it changed its status into a professional theater in 1986, and is now one of the 100 largest resident professional theaters in the United States. Celebrating 35 years in business FCLO has produced more than 125 stage musicals.

For over eighty years, the Fox Theatre has been a dominant feature in the heart of the downtown Fullerton business district, located four miles north of Disneyland and 30 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. Until its close in 1987, the Fox remained the entertainment center for millions of North Orange County residents. The Fullerton Historic Theatre Foundation believes that the theatre can once again become a vital part of the community that will bring prestige, culture, visitors and revenue to the city.
The Fox Fullerton Theatre is located on the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Chapman Avenue in downtown Fullerton.
